Privacy Policy for Bitmagic

Last updated: February 2024

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how the Bitmagic mobile application (the "App") collects, uses, and safeguards your information. The App is an unofficial client for the Bitrise continuous integration platform and allows you to view your projects, trigger builds and check build status. It is developed by an independent developer ("we", "us" or "our").

2. What Information We Collect and How We Use It

2.1 Personal access token

To communicate with the Bitrise API, the App requires a personal access token associated with your Bitrise account. The token is used solely for authenticating requests to the Bitrise API; without it the App cannot list your applications or trigger builds. The token is stored locally on your device and is never sent to our servers or shared with third parties. You can revoke this token at any time by logging out in the App or by deleting the token from your Bitrise account.

2.2 Information retrieved from Bitrise

The App retrieves data about your Bitrise projects and build status through Bitrise’s official API. This may include the names of your applications, build numbers, build status and timestamps. The App presents this information to you within the user interface; it does not copy this data to any third‑party server. All data travels directly between your device and Bitrise’s servers. For details on the categories of personal data Bitrise may process (for example, information you provide during registration or logged event data) and how long Bitrise retains that data (e.g., registration data is deleted in 30 days after your Bitrise profile is deleted and other usage data is deleted 5 years after profile deletion), please consult Bitrise’s privacy policy.

2.3 Support information

If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address and any information you choose to include in your message. We use this information only to respond to your inquiry and provide support. Users can reach us at support@entropiccode.com for assistance.

2.4 Data we do not collect

The App does not collect analytics about your usage, does not track your location, and does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone or other personal data beyond the Bitrise token described above. We do not store or share any personal information except as described in this policy.

3. Use of the Bitrise API and Third‑Party Services

The App is built on top of the Bitrise API. By using the App you consent to your data being processed by Bitrise in accordance with their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Bitrise explains that it processes personal data fairly and for specified purposes, keeps data accurate, and deletes data when it is no longer necessary. Bitrise also sets out your rights to access, rectify or erase your personal data.

4. How to Delete Your Account and Your Data

4.1 Removing your token and uninstalling the App

The App does not maintain its own user accounts. Your Bitrise access token and any preferences are stored only on your device. To remove this data:

  1. Log out of the App: Use the logout option within the App to remove your personal access token from local storage. This revokes the App’s ability to access your Bitrise data.
  2. Delete the App: You can uninstall the App at any time. Uninstalling deletes all locally stored data.

Because the App does not have its own server, no further action is required to delete data maintained by us. After uninstalling, we no longer have access to your token or any personal data.

4.2 Deleting your Bitrise account

If you wish to delete your Bitrise account, you must do so through Bitrise. Bitrise explains that users can delete their account via their profile settings. If you are the sole owner of a Bitrise workspace, you must first transfer ownership or delete the workspace. The steps provided by Bitrise are:

  1. Log in to Bitrise and select Bitrise CI from the left navigation menu.
  2. In the upper right corner, click your profile image to open the drop‑down menu.
  3. Choose Account settings.
  4. On the bottom of the profile page, click Delete account and follow the instructions.

Deleting your Bitrise account will result in Bitrise deleting your registration data within 30 days and other data within 5 years. Once you delete your Bitrise account and uninstall the App, no data related to you will be retained.

5. Data Retention

We store your Bitrise access token and settings on your device only for as long as you use the App. When you log out or uninstall the App, this data is removed. We do not store any personal data on our servers. For information on how long Bitrise retains personal data after you delete your profile (30 days for registration data and 5 years for other usage data), please refer to Bitrise’s privacy policy.

6. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties. Since the App communicates directly with Bitrise’s servers, your data is shared only with Bitrise. Bitrise may share your data with its infrastructure and service providers as described in their privacy policy. We do not integrate any analytics services or advertising networks into the App.

7. Security Measures

We take reasonable steps to protect the information stored on your device. The personal access token is stored in your device’s secure storage and is transmitted to Bitrise over encrypted connections. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to keep your device secure and to revoke your Bitrise access token if you suspect unauthorized access.

8. Your Rights

As a user of Bitrise services, you have rights regarding the processing of your personal data. Bitrise’s privacy policy explains that you have the right to access your personal data, rectify inaccurate data, erase data, restrict processing, object to processing, and request data portability. You also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise these rights with respect to data processed by Bitrise, please contact Bitrise directly via the contact details provided in their privacy policy. For questions about data handled by the App, please contact us using the address in section 11.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for developers and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete such information.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

11. Contact Us

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, want to exercise your rights, or need help using the App, please reach out to us. You can send an email to support@entropiccode.com and we will respond as soon as possible.
